“Teaching IU-180 for the ACE community was tremendously impactful for me as an educator. I sought to facilitate inquiry based learning placing the students experience, questions and creativity at the center of their learning. I experimented with ideation prompts and choice (arts-based) assignments as a way to assess their engagement and connection to the diverse texts. By helping students to ask questions, extend ideas, and make connections, I beleve they developed valuable critical thinking skills (describing, analyzing, interpreting, making creative connections to their own experiences), and I was fortunate and inspired to learn along with them.”
