OVERVIEW

The Green & Gold Initiative connects faculty creating courses sprung from their scholarly and creative passions to students eager to dwell in complex questions about humanity within a changing world. We are a diverse faculty from across the University, teaching diverse texts from across time and cultures, asking with you the questions we ask ourselves.

Values

We believe the Arts & Humanities and the Sciences belong together, that we share the same fundamental cares. At the very onset of education at CSU, we strive to create the kind of interdisciplinary thinkers who can face the pressing crises of the world, believing in the promise that meaningful solutions exist.

History

The Green & Gold Initiative is a new vision built on education's oldest premise — that gathering together to talk and consider our mutual cares benefits us all. Funded by a major grant from the Teagle Foundation's Cornerstone Project, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Green & Gold Initiative piloted its first classes in Fall 2022
